Prof. Harry E. Burton, Daniel Webster professor of the Latin language and literature, has been appointed annual professor- in the school of classical studies of the American Academy in Rome for the year 1927-1928. The appointment confers high honor upon Professor Burton and the college.

Professor Burton will take up his lectures there next October, thirty-two years since the time when he formed one of the group of American scholars who were the charter members of this center of archaeological research abroad. He spent this year, 1895-1896, in Rome. The following year he was appointed instructor in Latin at Dartmouth. In 1897—98 he was again in Rome for a further year of research.
