Tufts 10—Dartmouth 5
AUGUST, 1927

The Dartmouth batting slump continued in evidence when Tufts defeated the Green in Boston June 17 by a score of 10 to 5. The Hanover nine was successful in getting men to bases but unable to advance them across the plate, eleven runners being left stranded on the paths. Van Riper who first took up the pitching burden for Dartmouth carried it only a short distance, a barrage of four Tufts runs forcing his relief by Gibson in the first inning. Picken hit safely, for Dartmouth on three occasions, getting a single, a double, and a three base hit.
