I met Merrill Shurtleff, Jr., in the subway early in September. He has a position with Filene. He reported his father was very well now, and that they had recently had a call from H. F. J. Norton and family, who were on their way to Quebec.
Robert Bliss, younger son of Don and Mrs. Bliss, died at the hospital in Hanover, August 25. He was spending his vacation at Lake Morey when he was taken ill, and died soon after his arrival at Hanover. The burial was at Calais, Me. The deepest sympathy of '92 is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Bliss.
The summer has not brought me much '92 news. I ran across Mr. and Mrs. Salinger while at Sugar Hill. They were staying at Whitefield for a few weeks. I had a note from Doty, who reported Robert Bliss' death and Allen's address, but said nothing about himself.
Are you a Mason? Bert Holland is very much so. In Atlantic City on September 19, the Scottish Rite 33d Degree Masons conferred on him the 33d degree.
