The following communication which appeared in the Vox Populi column of The Dartmouth is self-explanatory.
To the Editor of The Dartmouth. Two Richardsons on the Faculty are often the cause of confusion. It usually works out well for me for I am likely to be given credit for the manifold good works of James P., while I suppose some of my misdeeds are attributed to him. I am afraid I can not claim the credit given me in The Dartmouth for securing the speaker who is to represent the case of Mr. Hoover to the College in the near future. In fact, were I involved in the matter, I might be inclined, as a supporter of Governor Smith, to select as a Hoover speaker such of his clerical friends as Dr. Stratton, Bishop Cannon, or that inciter of clerics, the lady-assistant-attorney-general in charge of prohibition, rather than the gentleman mentioned, who, I have no doubt, will present a case well worth the consideration of the College.
