Wellesley Passes Smith
December, 1928

Smith is no longer the favorite college of Dartmouth men as it has always been hitherto, if it is possible to take the United States Mail system as a criterion. According to the letters which were postmarked at the Postoffice during the course of a single day last week, Wellesley now occupies the premier position with a total of 95 letters sent. Smith however is still in the running, having 88 who are favored with a Hanover correspondent.

Wellesley and Smith are given very little competition by other colleges of the fair sex, since Yassar receives only 15, Skidmore but 5, and Wheaton a mere 3.

New York is the most popular city among the students as 550 write to the great metropolis. Boston comes next in line, with 440 letters having the Hub as their destination; Chicago is a very poor third with 150.
