Class of 1923

I had the good fortune to be present at the annual Christmas party for the Twenty-three boys living in the vicinity of New York.

The place was the Lafayette Hotel and the date was December 16.

The boys began to gather about 6:30 and after the pre-dinner activities we started in to relieve the hunger. Just before the last course was brought on "Cy" Aschenbach came in, which of course, called for another round. After the banquet "Cy" gave a great spiel on the coming Fifth, stating that it was a long awaited pleasure, and not a duty to return to Hanover this June.

I might add at this time, that Jim Landauer was in charge of the banquet and as usual did a fine j ob.

Among those present were, Carl Allen, all the way from Florida, Addie Hurtz, Charlie Zimmerman, Cy Aschenbach, Jim Landauer, Woody Goss, Nick Bernard, Roger Wilkinson, Howie Walker, Bill Carrigan, and Lou Lewinsohn.

The main topic of discussion during the evening was the Fifth. Several new ideas were hashed over, but will not be spilled until a bit later.

The plans so far sound O. K. and am sure they suit everybody fine.

The Dartmouth Club in New York is the next thing to Hanover, and in some respects better for the alumni, in that one finds many more familiar faces there. For example, the day following the class dinner there were eight of our crowd parked in one room chewing things over. Lush Ruder, Sid Flanigan, Ed Furey, Ken Quencer were there besides several mentioned in connection with the dinner.

This was my first visit to the club and I'll recommend it highly to those who get to New York every once in a while.

Ken Way is now with the Telephone Company in Boston and living in West Medford, Mass.

John Anderson and Louise Garrety were married Sept. IS at Cleveland. They have gone to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where Johnny is the A. C. Lawrence Company representative.

Leif B. Norstrand and Sarah Withrow were married in Cincinnati on October 27. They are now living at Pointview Terrace, Plattsburg, N. Y.

Paul Carlisle has an M. D. after his name now and is practising in Springfield, Mass.

Jack Booth is now located at the Bellevue Hospital, New York City.
