Conditions'for hockey in Hanover have been very unfavorable. As one enthusiast remarked "No one could want a better argument for a hockey rink than the weather this season." That completed plans for an enclosed ice arena have been made for use during next season has been the only consolation for the hockey forces so far this winter.

During the practice trip to Lake Placid the latter part of the Christmas vacation it was possible to hold only one practice session and all of the three games scheduled with Williams at Lake Placid had to be cancelled because of "no ice." The Green defeated M. I. T. at the Springfield Arena January 3, 11-1. With rising hopes the squad journeyed to New York where the crack McGill sextet was engaged the next day. Lack of condition among the Dartmouth skaters was the chief cause of their being humbled, 4-2. Princeton also scored a win over the team January 5 at Princeton, 5-4, in an overtime game. L. K. Neidlinger '23, former Dartmouth football and hockey player, is coaching the Tiger hockey team.

Returning to Hanover Coach Bower found a March thaw in full operation and it was impossible to hold any practice until January 16. During this period two games were cancelled, one with Boston College and the other with Harvard, both scheduled to be played at Hanover.
