Coach Jeff Tesreau started for the South on. the annual baseball pilgrimage with fifteen recruits, of whom three played regularly last year. After losing four of the games and winning three on this trip Jeff is quoted as saying that he looks for a "better team than last year." His boys are hitting well, both the infield and outfield look good, he has a well balanced pitching staff, and McLaughlin, veteran of two seasons, is back to catch again.

It was principally because of the loss of Capt. Lawson Van Riper and Bob Harris through sickness that the victories were few and far between on the training trip. Both are pitchers and Van is the mainstay among the hurlers. A sophomore, Breckenridge, arose to fill the gap made by the loss of the two veteran pitchers and his good showing in the early games promises much for later contests. The results of the games on this trip were:

Dartmouth 13—William and Mary 6 Dartmouth 4—U. of Richmond 11 Dartmouth 2—Quantico Marines 4 Dartmouth o—Quantico Marines 8 Dartmouth S—St. John's College 10 Dartmouth 6—Temple 4 Dartmouth 18—Drexel Institute 2

The squad consisted of: Capt. Van Riper, Breckenridge, Hollstrom, and Marsh, pitchers; McDonough and McLaughlin, catchers; Graf, Jeremiah, Sands, Shea, and Walsh, infielders;

Lane, Murphy, Page, and Parker, outfielders. L. C. Milliken, manager, accompanied the team.

The game with Yale, scheduled for April 14 at New Haven was called off because of rain.
