Gamma Delta Epsilon, a local fraternity, announces that its petition to the national fraternity, Phi Kappa Sigma, has been accepted and through a unanimous vote of the chapters, a charter of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity will be granted to the Dartmouth local. The installation of the national chapter will take place next year.

Gamma Delta Epsilon was founded in 1907 by the members of the Class of 1909 and was recognized by the Interfraternity Council in 1908. It was inactive from 1909 to 1915 when it was revived by fusion with another local fraternity which it took over. At the present time Gamma Delta Epsilon lists 38 men on the roll of its undergraduate chapter and 100 alumni.

The national fraternity of Phi Kappa Sigma was founded at the University of Pennsylvania in 1850. The present roll of chapters number 34 with New England chapters at the University of Maine and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
