The twenty-fifth reunion of the class of 1903 was held in Hanover, June 15-19, 1928. Fifty-seven men answered the call. About half of these brought wives and children to the party. Massachusetts Hall was again set aside for our class. It would be hard to get nearer the center of things. Everything seemed to break for us, weather included. It was a most happy occasion for those who attended.
Saturday, Class Day, many of the class attended the exercises of the graduating class, thus renewing their own youth. Most of us attended the exercises dedicating the new Baker Library, and heard a most interesting set of speeches. Sunday we went to Lake Morey, just west of Fairlee, for the class picnic. The whole day was an occasion of pure joy. Monday the class went to the ball game with Cornell. Marching perilously near the head of the procession, we saw only 1898 preceding us, in any organized formation. The good-looking and efficient young marshal came up to a dozen or so of us and said, "We'd like you to form right behind '9B, if you please, sah," and we did.
The class dinner was held at the Inn Sunday night, and was the only stag affair of the reunion. Hoppy visited us, made a good talk, and stayed through to the finish. This Was much appreciated by the class, all of whom have a great affection for the President of the College. The retiring president, Kennie, did a good job as toastmaster. The speakers, besides Hoppy, were only three, Jake Smith, Vic Cutter, and Willie Woolverton. All made interesting speeches. Willie was seeing the class and the College for the first time since graduation; it was a treat to watch him and listen to him. Tuesday and break-up came all too soon. All of us enjoyed visiting with each other. The "beef" session was going on most of the time, wherever two or three, or fifty, got together. Most of the evenings were spent in the time-honored sport. Those who didn't return missed a good time, and, in turn, were missed by those who did. The Thirtieth comes soon enough to begin planning on.
