I. C. A. A. A. A. Meet

After qualifying eight men in the trials of the I. C. A. A. A. A. games in Boston, Dartmouth was only able to collect 7 1/3 points in the final standing. There were many upsets in the games, owing to the fact that a heavy rain soaked the track and handicapped some of the favorites. Monty Wells, winner of the high hurdle event last year, was able to secure only fifth place. Maynard, winner of the high jump last year, lost his title to King of Stanford, and tied for second at 5' 10". Last year Maynard won the event at 6' 4". Pierce, another Dartmouth highjumper, worked into a triple tie for third place. Jerry Swope won fourth place in the quarter-mile and Jeff Glendinning scored fifth in the 100-yard dash. There was some talk of a dual meet with Stanford in Hanover during the Commencement season, but negotiations were not entered into early enough to make such a meet possible.

Captains Elected

The Dartmouth Athletic Council has ratified the election of captains of four varsity teams for next year: John W. Bryant '29 of West Newton, Mass., was elected captain of the swimming team; Henry H. Enders '29 of Cohasset, Mass., captain of water polo; Percy H. Russell, Jr. '29 of Washington, D. C., captain of the gym team; and Bartlett H. Stoodley of Somerville, Mass., captain of fencing.

The Council also ratified the election of Robert A. Rolfe '3l as captain of the freshman baseball team for this year. Rolfe lives in Penacook, N. H., and prepared for Dartmouth at Exeter.
