Forrest Brown was elected president of the Massachusetts High School Masters Association, at its annual meeting, January 12. This honor was due, no doubt, to his able performance of the well-known duties of vicepresident the previous year. Let him know if you would like to speak before his organization in the near future.
No doubt you read of the murder of Dr. Sartwell, superintendent of the Rhode Island Hospital for the Insane, on January 11, but you may not have noted that Dr. Coon, who had been assistant superintendent, was immediately placed in charge. Coon's life was also threatened, but with the capture of the murderer,-that particular danger is passed.
Sam Baldwin has become a father. At least, the ultra-reliable Boston Transcript on January 12 contained his picture, labeled: "S. Prentiss Baldwin, the father of BirdBanding." Sam was in Boston January 15 and 16, and I had the pleasure of hearing him describe his laboratory to the members of the North Eastern Bird Banding Association. Sam looked well, and said he was. He is still prying into the intimate life of the Wren family.
At the annual dinner of the Boston alumni, seven '92 men sat down together: Earl, Hayes, Holland, Salinger, Strong, Walter Thompson, and Weston. We had a rattling good time together, and decided that three years and a half was a long time to wait for another reunion at Hanover. The memory of the last one seemed to have stuck pleasantly in the minds of all the men.
