D.O.C. House Dedication
MARCH 1929

At the time of the D.O.C. House dedication a venison dinner was given by the club to the Class of 1900 whose gift made possible the erection of the building. The dinner was attended by 33 members of the donation class, 25 members of Cabin and Trail, the governing body of the Outing Club, and a few special guests.

Dean Craven Laycock, the first speaker, was introduced by Harold H. Leich '29, the toastmaster, as representing the administration. Dean Laycock stated that the new house would fill a longfelt need in Hanover and on behalf of the College thanked the class for its gift.

Walter P. Rankin, president of the class, described the College as it was in 1900 and contrasted it with present conditions. Clarence G. McDavitt then related the history of the class fund, telling how Prof. Charles A. Procter first suggested spending the money in erecting a house for the Outing Club.
