The fifty-fifth reunion of the class of '75 was a success in every way, and a most enjoyable occasion for all of those who were fortunate in being present.
Comfortable rooms had been reserved for the class at the Hanover Inn, and headquarters was established there.
Of the twenty-four known survivors of the class, ten were present for longer or shorter periods. These were Aldrich, Carr, Cone, Forrest, Hart, Hutchinson, Munroe, Rich, Stevens, and Towle.
At the first meeting of the class Saturdayafternoon, John Munroe was unanimously chosen president of the class to fill the vacancy caused by the lamented death of our late president, Wilbur H. Powers, who died suddenly soon after our fiftieth reunion. Stevens was reelected secretary.
The class voted to hold another reunion in Hanover at Commencement in 1935.
We had a happy time together, renewing old ties and talking over our college days. The class was especially favored by being invited by President Hopkins to the reception in his fine new residence, where we met many old friends.
The class supper, at which the ladies of the class were also present, was served in the College Commoiis, and was the climax of the reunion. Before sitting down to the table, we stood in silence for a moment in memory of those classmates who had gone before. Later letters and telegrams from absent members of the class, including a cablegram from Wertheimer who is traveling abroad, were read by the Secretary, and also brief notices of our classmates who have passed on since our last reunion, and then each man present gave a little talk on his life experience.
All those present declared their intention to be present at the reunion in 1935 and we said good-bye with increased affection for each other.
Secretary.
