Helen Foster and daughter Lois sailed on June 28 on the North Cape Cruise, on the Calgaric. The cruise takes them to Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. They land at Dantzig, going to Oberammergau for the Passion Play, and then to Switzerland, Paris, and London, returning via Montreal the last of August.

"Bub" Coombs' son enters the freshman class next fall.

On June 8 the Secretary enjoyed an afternoon's golf and gossip with Rip Heneage and Dick Lane, who had just returned from Europe. Rip went across with the Walker Cup golf team, and not only saw them play the matches at Sandwich but played with some of the members, including Francis Ouimet and Dr. Willing, and enjoyed other parties with them. Beside playing golf at Sunningdale and St. Andrews, Rip did some fishing in the Scotch lakes, and incidentally investigated rowing at the English schools and universities.

The Heneages expect to spend a portion of the summer at Rye Beach, N. H., and Rip hopes to do some fishing with Harry Wellman at Jones Pond.

Norman Cushman and his family are spending the summer at Duxbury, Mass. Dick and Lucy Lane had a highly successful vacation, during which their sporting events included a bull-fight in Spain and the races in Paris.

In May, Victor King, Jr., set up a new college record for the hammer throw, the details of which are noted elsewhere in this issue in the sporting columns.

Ned Temple's wife was the chairman of the Tercentenary County Fair, which was successfully carried out under the auspices of the Belmont Women's Club, in Belmont, Mass., on June 7.

At the Jacobs Hill Horse Show, on May 17, in the junior jumping, Lou Gerry's daughter Phyllis on "Rock Salt" was fourth, and she was also fourth in the Ladies' Hunters class. On "Flying Dutchman" she was third in the "Touch and Go" class. In the riding competition, under twelve years, Cardell Gerry was third, and for children under sixteen Phyllis was second.

In this Jacobs Hill Horse Show, Art Lewis of 'OB and H. Holland Crowell of '12 were also conspicuous with the success of their many entries.
