The Charles Quincy Tirrell Medal for physical improvement was awarded to George L. Engel '34, of New York for the past year. Engel prepared at the Columbia Grammar SchooHn New York. His scholastic average for the first semester was 3.5.

Through the bequest of the late Charles Quincy Tirrell of Natick, Massachusetts, a gold medal is awarded annually "to that member of the Academic Department who, in the judgment of the President of the College \and the President of the Athletic Council, has made the greatest progress in physical improvement, due regard being given to the excellence of his work in the classroom."
