In The Undergraduate Chair we always hesitate to bestow praise because of the fear that our readers will believe we are praising as a matter of course and not with real sincerity. For the Concert Series of this year we have nothing but praise. We have already spoken of the pleasure of listening to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. This month Florence Austral, soprano, and John Amadio, flutist, presented a program that needed no knowledge of music to arouse enthusiasm. Miss Austral sang four groups including one entirely of Strauss; Mr. Amadio played two groups including such pieces as "Flute of Pan," the finale from Mozart's Concerto in D, and Doppler's "Idylle."
