CLASS OF 1878
April 1931 William D. Parkinson

Dr. J. B. Gerould of North Attleboro, Mass., and Mrs. Gerould are spending the winter in Southern California. Joe will be missed at the Boston dinner, where he is one of the stand-bys.

W. D. Parkinson of Fitchburg, Mass., is enjoying—or perhaps suffering—a degree of notoriety as a member of a committee that recently rendered to the Boston Finance Committee a report upon the administration of the Boston public schools. The committee seems to be between the upper and the nether millstones. Public hearings are being held, nominally upon the report as a basis. But animosities, personal and political, are more in evidence at the hearings than anything in the report itself, and those portions of it, many or few, that merit public attention are lost to view in the give and take of challenge and replying.
