"Optional Writing in Literature Courses" by Professor William A. Eddy, a paper read at the National Convention of English Teachers, Cleveland, last November, has been published in the English Journal for February, 1931.

The English Journal for December, 1930, contains an article by Professor Sidney H. Cox entitled "Joseph Conrad: the Teacher as Artist."

There has only recently come to the notice of the editor a book published early last year by Professor James A. Winans, and former Professor W. E. Utterback. This book is "Argumentation," published by the Century Company.
