PROF. E. J. BABTLETT is an old friend of THE MAGAZINE who needs no words of presentation. The destruction of the White Church by fire May 13 makes appropriate an article on its "history and traditions. The writing of this could not be left to one better qualified that "Bobby"—long-time teacher and now professor emeritus.
THE AUTHOR of this month's article in the series "A College Course for Alumni" is Prof. Harold R. Bruce of the department of Political Science. He is a graduate of Beloit College and received advanced degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He has taught at Dartmouth since 1920.
WITH THE EDITORS is a section of THE MAGAZINE newly created by the editors. Comment about interesting items gleaned from the Alumni Magazines of other colleges and the reprinting of these items will occasionally be a feature of future issues.
THE ATTENTION of readers is called to the final program for the 1931 Commencement as published in the May News of the College pages. Class reunion events are not listed therein but have been arranged to avoid conflict, in so far as possible, with the scheduled program of the exercises.
PROF. H. F. WEST is the author of an article on an experimental printing press operated in Hanover during the past year. Prof. West, who is a member of the department of Comparative Literature, graduated from Dartmouth in 1922 and received his M.A. from the College in 1924. He has taught at Dartmouth since 1922.
JOHN BTJTLIN MARTIN, JR., author of the Fellowship article, is president of Palaeopitus and has served as editor of The Dartmouth during the past year. His home is in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
MANY HOURS could profitably be spent in listening to or reading of the adventures of DR. WILLIAM PATTEN in his many trips of exploration throughout the world. He has taught at Dartmouth since 1893 and will retire to an emeritus professorship in June. As the inaugurator of the freshman course in Evolution in 1921 and its continuous director he has played an important role in the development of.the College curriculum.
