COMING OFF A YEAR THAT SAW A first-ever trip to the NCAAs and Dartmouth's name atop Ivy League mens lacrosse standings (tied with Princeton and Cornell) for the first time in almost 40 years, the Big Green stickmen are "very excited and working very hard," says assistant coach Dan Chemotti. "We lost some quality players to graduation, but we do have some experienced players returning. Their main motivation is that they haven't received the respect they want. They're very competitive and they play in a great league."

Five members of the team have been named preseason All-Americans by InsideCollege Lacrosse magazine: midfielder Ben Grinnell '05, defenseman Pat Keeley '05 and goalie Andrew Goldstein '05 to the second team; midfielder Tom Daniels '04 to the third. Attacker Jamie Coffin '06 received honorable mention.

First-year coach Bill Wilson, previously an assistant coach at Cornell, will take the team into action with the assistance of Chemotti and Jeff Roberts. The season opens against Rutgers Febuary 28; Ivy League play begins April 10 at home against Penn.
