CLASS OF 1893
June 1931 Harlan C. Pearson

Samuel P. Hunt '93 is the executor of the will and residuary legatee of the milliondollar estate of his father, the late Judge Nathan P. Hunt '66, lawyer, banker, and insurance company official of Manchester. Judge Edwin B. Weston recently lost by death his brother, James H. Weston, retired banker of Derry, who was for a time a member of the class of 1891.

Rev. Frank N. Saltmarsh was one of the bearers at the funeral in Derry of Colonel Frederick J. Shepard, father of Alan B. Shepard, 1913.

Harry N. McLaren was one of the bearers at the funeral of Allan E. Herrick, teacher of penmanship in the schools of Manchester.

Rev. George E. Kinney, who once more kindly helped out the Secretary by attending in his place the annual meeting of secretaries at Hanover May 1 and 2, wrote that he had secured Dr. Herbert S. Martyn for an address before the Connecticut Valley Ministerial Association on the abolition of capital punishment, which the Doctor favored in the recent session of the Vermont legislature, of which he was a member.

"Seen by appointment" is the legend on the letterheads of George Edward Pender, M.D., of Portsmouth, which probably is the correct thing for veteran practitioners, but sounds a bit high-hat to us.

The candidacy of Dr. Arthur H. Ruggles for member of the Alumni Council brought us a letter from his fellow citizen of Providence, R. 1., Willard G. Aborn '93. The latter lives in Barrington, R. 1., but does business in Providence.

Secretary, 104 North State St., Concord, N. H.
