The Secretaries Association meeting at Hanover on May 1 and 2, which was attended by your Secretary, was an occasion of great pleasure and satisfaction to all who had the privilege of attending it. It was disappointing that Bill Minsch, the chairman of the Alumni Fund committee, was unable to be present. He has a great responsibility in securing this year's quota, and it is expected that his classmates will do their job and stand by him as suggested to each one in John McLane's May 1 letter to the class. Incidentally the Judge's most successful efforts as class agent since the fund was started should be supported.
Pat Hathaway was assemblyman in the New York legislature this year. The first of May, Dick Lane enjoyed ten days fishing at East Lake Stream.
Ted and Helen Foster enjoyed a motor trip to Virginia in April to visit Lois, who is a student at Sweet Briar College, Sweet Briar, Va.
In April, Judge and Elisabeth McLane enjoyed their annual spring skiing expedition on Mount Washington, where they saw John Carleton and Charlie Proctor ski down the head wall of Tuckerman's Ravine, which is said to be the only time this has been done.
Ted Richardson and his wife are rejoicing over the birth of Anne, born at Richardson House, Boston, on April 17.
Jim Brown has been occupied much of this year in attending to his duties as legislative agent for several corporations before the Massachusetts Legislature.
Frank Crocker's family recently moved into their new home at 184 School St., Milton, Mass.
Recently Herb Hinman wrote: "Times are hard, they say, but we poor folks down here in Virginia are sort of used to it. If you fellows up North would just make better times come along so we could enjoy some of it, of course that would be fine. As it is, we are making the best of it and enjoying the apple blossoms and good weather and doing business as usual."
