President's Engagements

President Hopkins attended the inauguration of the Reverend Vaughan Dabney as dean of the Andover-Newton Theological School January 7 and spoke as the representative of the New England colleges at a dinner at the Trinity Church in Newton Center, Massachusetts, on this occasion. President Hopkins is a trustee of the Newton Theological Institution which recently became affiliated with the Andover Theological School to form the joint institution of which the Reverend Mr. Dabney was inaugurated dean.

The President's schedule for the latter part of January includes an address before the Alumni Association of Springfield, Massachusetts, Friday, January 22, at the Nayasset Club in Springfield. This occasion is followed by an engagement as the principal speaker at the annual dinner of the alumni of St. Lawrence University at the Commodore Hotel in New York Saturday, January 23. President Richard E. Sykes of St. Lawrence University and Owen D. Young, a trustee, are the other speakers on this occasion. An address at the annual dinner of the New York Alumni Association at the Hotel Plaza January 28 is President Hopkins' last public engagement of the month.
