DR. C. S. LITTLE '91, better known as "Squash," has earned distinction in the field of mental hygiene through his enlightened planning of Letehworth Village and later by his farsighted administration of this important New York State institution. The final paragraph of his article in this issue includes the statement "to be really happy you should be a little feeble minded." This is indicative of the genial humor that has endeared "Squash" Little to hundreds of Dartmouth confreres. It may well account, as one of many distinguishing characteristics, for his notable success in his profession.

THE AUTHOR of "A Student in the Early Eighteen Hundreds" is a long-time resident of Thetford, Vermont. She has collaborated in recent years with her husband, the Rev. William Slade of the class of '84, in preparing a history of the town of Thetford. Their association with Dartmouth has been close through a number of family connections. She is welcomed to these columns as a contributor of an interesting and valuable historical story.

THE FRONTISPIECE is a reproduction of the Webster Cottage etching by Alice Standish Buell. It is used by special permission of the artist who would be glad to answer inquiries regarding the purchase of original prints of the etching at her home address, 245 Martine Avenue, White Plains, New York.

MOSE LINSCOTT '13, more formally addressed as Charles H., is one of many class agents at and to whom the Alumni Fund committee is always delighted to point the finger of approbation in showing newly created agents a "good example." That Mose is one of the most cordially liked men of his class is a fact which should be known as well as that of his proven abilities as a collector for the Alumni Fund.

LOOTS P. BANEZET '99 speaks with authority on the question of the value of public school education. He has always been a teacher in secondary schools since his graduation from Dartmouth. More recently he has directed the public school system in Manchester, New Hampshire.
