If you want to do a little long-distance planning, here is a suggestion. Columbus Day, October 12, comes on Friday in 1934. You couldn't do better than to spend the week-end in Hanover. This suggestion is based on my experience this year. Fortunately, business called me to New Hampshire around October 12, so Mrs. Strong and I took advantage of it to run back to the old town. If you go up through the Keene Valley and come down through Vermont, you ought to get one of the most bewilderingly beautiful displays of color on hills and fields that you could find anywhere. Hanover itself, of course, was beautiful in its autumnal setting; and you can undoubtedly take in a football game. We had the pleasure of seeing Mrs. Hall and Bill and Mrs. Geiger. Bill told me some interesting tales of his experiences in Germany this summer. I won't retell them, as I still have hopes of getting him to write a class letter for me. He assured me it was on his schedule, but he seems to have lost his schedule. Look for our next issue.
