Bob Mungall wrote from Moscow a letter which he mailed in Berlin, Germany, advising that he was planning to leave Russia about December 3 or 4, and until we hear from him at the Reunion in Hanover we can only assume what his experiences have been during the last few years.
Squire Wilson dropped in the office on his way from San Francisco to Lyndonville, Vt., and reported that Vander Pyl is with the E. H. Edwards Company, a wire rope concern in San Francisco, and is living in Burlingame, Calif.
Jack Scarry and his sister have opened a lending library in West Roxbury, Mass., at the corner of Park and Center Sts., and he is adding an innovation in the form of a delivery of the lending library books. Along with others, he will also furnish you with jig-saw puzzles.
The December, 1932, issue of the LifeInsurance Courant gives the following:
"Kendrick A. Luther, vice-president ofthe Aetna Life, has announced the appointment of R. S. Edwards to succeed SeabornT. Whatley as the company's general agentat Chicago. The change is effective March1.
"Mr. Edwards began with the Aetna in1915 as a group insurance representative.The war interrupted his association withthe company for two years from 1917 to1919. Upon his return he became again agroup representative for the company,covering the New England territory. Soonafter he joined the K. A. Luther agency atBoston. In 1921 he went to the home officeas assistant secretary in the group division,which position he held until 1924, whenhe was promoted to secretary."
"In 1925 Mr. Edwards was oppointedgeneral agent in partnership with E. W.Baker at Detroit. In 1930 he took charge ofthe Vanderbilt Ave. agency in New Yorkcity. Last March the company combinedthe Vanderbilt Ave. and the 42d St.agencies, giving Mr. Edwards charge ofboth. In the two years that Mr. Edwardshas been in New York city, first in chargeof the one agency and then in charge ofthe combined agencies, he has built up afull-time organization that comparesfavorably with the best.
"At the first of this year, his agencyreached a peak of eight men on the company's list of leaders. Only one other ofthe Aetna's 83 agencies has excelled thisrecord. Last year President Brainardawarded Mr. Edwards the president'strophy for showing the greatest generalimprovement, in his agency during 1931of all Aetna Life agencies in its easternregion."
