Concerning Dogs
April 1933

Hanover is as much of a canine sanctuary as ever, it was revealed in the annual Town Report which recently came off the press. There are 351 dogs licensed in the college community, and an appreciable part of this number are owned by undergraduates. Dog ownership has become quite the thing among students during the past few years, and many fancy breeds cavort on the campus between classes. One student, so the story goes, recently sent his dog to take his place in class, but the student received a cut despite the diligent attention of his substitute. President Hopkins' Scottish deerhound was recently killed, and his place as best known dog has been taken by Professor McCallum's huge St. Bernard, which stole the show at Outdoor Evening last Carnival.
