Hill returning from California met Hardison and Piper for lunch in Boston, April 3. As a third of the class are resident in California and Hill had seen most of them recently, naturally he led in the conv ersation. Peabody he had met twice; he found him in the best of health and evidently keeping "visual education" well to the front. Woods he did not see, but he had an interview with one of his daughters, who informed him that while her father was an invalid he was slowly making his way back to health. Stimson and wife were living quietly in their home at La Jolla; perhaps "serenity" is the best word to describe the state in which Hill found them. He spent a week-end with them. Hunt he found in a hospital with a fractured femur. On a postal Hunt sends the following account of himself. "A recent X-ray givesgood hope, but they ask more time. Notat all a happy situation, but I am glad tosay a hopeful one." Hill saw Worthen in Oakland; he was in the best of health, but hindered in getting about by impaired vision. In San Francisco he hoped to meet Clark, but didn't accomplish it.

The 10th has been set for another meet for lunch in Boston, and it is possible Tripp may come over from New Bedford and make a fourth for this occasion.
