Topping the list of the 26 fraternities for the ninth time in the last eleven years, Alpha Sigma Phi won first place honors in the fraternity scholarship ratings of the first semester, 1932-33, with an average of 2.826. Alpha Tau Omega climbed from sixth place in the ratings of the previous semester to take second position with an average of 2.673. Pi Lambda Phi is third, Phi Kappa Psi fourth, and Sigma Alpha Mu, which led in the second semester of last year, is fifth.
As compared with the figures for the year 1931-32, the fraternity average increased approximately point one to 2.431 but the non-fraternity average of the three upper classes decreased slightly to 2.441. The senior class standing, fraternity and non-fraternity, is 2.762, the junior 2.468, the sophomore 2.131, and the freshman 2.097,a1l except the sophomore class raising their averages. The grand average increased a little to 2.434.
