The eleventh annual symphony concert of the Handel Society of Hanover was presented in Webster Hall on May 7 under the direction of Prof. M. F. Longhurst. For the first time in its history the orchestra, which is composed of seventy-four musicians drawn from the student body, the faculty, and the townspeople, gave its concert without the aid of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Selections from Brahms and Wagner featured the anniversaries of these composers.
Dorothy Kendrick, well-known concert pianist from New York, was the guest soloist at the concert. The services of Miss Kendrick, as well as the presentation of the symphony concert, were made possible through the interest and generosity of an alumnus of the College.
