George W. Earle, about to retire from teaching, was recently given the following testimonial by the Board of Trade of Hyde Park, Mass.:
"He came to us in 1909, as headmasterof the Hyde Park High School, and as suchhas been directing its affairs for a quarterof a century, during which period it hasbeen outstanding for the high standard ofexcellence maintained in every departmentand in all its activities.
"He is about to retire. Thus do we pauseand contemplate the man and the servicehere rendered by him. An able administrator of scholarly attainments, high purposes, and broad sympathies, he has beenat once an admirable master, counselor,exemplar, and friend in his relations withhis co-workers, as well as with the thousands of youth committed to his care. Radiating from him has been an unusuallywholesome and helpfid influence, reachingthrough those about him into the lives ofmany others, and constituting an impressive contribution to the community.
"In recognition of his sterling qualitiesand distinguished service and as an expression of the good-will, esteem, and appreciation of this community, this testimonial, by unanimous vote, has beenadopted by the Hyde Park Board of Trade,and it being by said vote so ordered, issigned in its behalf by its officers atid directors."
