Sons of 1908 Gather in Hanover
October 1934

THE SUNDAY morning following the gathering of secretaries in Hanover, last May, Art Rotch, Mort Hull and Larry Griswold invited the sons of 1908 in college to come over to the Inn and participate in a breakfast get-together a la C. C. Hills and the sons of '05. The event drew all the 1908 sons in town at the time, nine, the remainder being in Northampton, etc. Memory may desert the writer in recalling the names of the lads, but they are thought to run, from left to right, something like this:

The first three in the picture are the famed sons of Rosie Hinman who holds a world's record based on the fact he managed to feed, clothe and keep in Dartmouth three husky sons during the academic year 1933-34. Their names are, also from left to right; Howard D. Hinman '34, Edward B. '35 and Crawford H. '37. Next comes Robert H. Dunham '37, he by Jasper S., and the others line up as follows: Richard F. Treadway '35, son of Larry G.; Edward J. Skillen '35, son of Percy; Hobart W. Griffin '35, (the boy) named for "Home-Run" Hobie 'OB and he is a son of W. G.: William B. Rotch '37, son of Major Arthur B.; John G. Osborne '37, nephew of L. W. Griswold. —LARRY GRISWOLD 'OB.
