Dartmouth's line-up in these three games included; le, Daley; It, Sherwin, Elcock; lg, Tobin; c, Needham, Dingle; rg, Farnum, Johnson; rt. There's more than one name among these that could be written into most any football team, anywhere, any time.
Jack-O' Lantern started year with a splendid cover piece by Art Gow '10 . . . . for fourth consecutive year the class of 1910 won Fall Interclass Track Meet, Nate Sherman '10 (Olympic star whose son plays quarter on present Freshman football team) won five firsts in both dashes, both hurdles and broad jump; "Coke" Holdman '11 was his nearest rival with 13 points .... other point winners were: '11 Abbot, Morris, Holdman, Noyes, Hall Seaver, Russell, Trask, Marden; '12, Preble, Francis, Stewart, Clark, Chase, Marden; '13, Riley, Nardini, Sickman, Buck, Seidler; and 1910, the winning class, had Sherman, Dyer, Baxter, Wilkinson, Tobin, Palmer, Jenks.
Sheldon Smith '10 won Fall Tennis Tournament, defeating Fred Harris '11 .... following men on Cross Country squad: 1910, Blake, Bull, Cooper, Holmes, Langdell, Miller, Spokesfield, Wilkinson; 1911, Abbot, Aronowitz, Burleigh, Chamber! in, Chase, Hoffman, Moseley, Moses, Noyes, Palmer, Patterson; 1912, Belcher, Brown, Bruner, F. Clark, S. Clark, Doyle', Ferguson, Francis, Hedlund, Jones, Lang, Lyons, Miller, Park, Plumer, Preble, Robie; 1913, Adams, Badger, Ball, Bidwell, Boody, Bronk, French, Gumbart, Hardenbrook. Informal blaze in Culver Hall started Fall-Firing-Season .... discovery by students-friend, Jacob Bond .... curtain at 3 A.M several hundred students full of zest, fall air and cider, and in varied collection of costumes, gathered before the much maligned H. F. D. which, discovered in process of sneaking onto stage, was greeted with helpful applause and applesauce Doc Bolser, Culver's Dynamic Custodian, arriving with lantern, searching for blaze and an honest fireman, made big hit. .... Bobby Bartlett, in a conflict of desires between further sleep and a secondclass fire in his Chemical-Theatre, came on mid-show and called for volunteers to recover his favorite test-tube ..... progress of show being obstructed, someone smashed a window .... then rest of windows were promptly smashed before an audience that was unbegrudging in advice and appreciation .... mentally bogged but physically alert H. F. D. poured water into an empty cellar .... Show Management, vaccinated with a nozzle, authorized further soaking of each room and destruction of anything breakable .... 2nd Act opened with appearance of Super-Whiz LadderBrigade .... in effort to give the audience a square deal, no pains at expense were spared .... in line with the complexity of treatment to Hanover fires in those days, this personally, but unsystematically, conducted affair cost someone $2,000.
Here was an evening's entertainment by undergraduates at the "Bissell Hipprodrome" which could scarcely be surpassed in these days
