Johnny johnson '66 was a grand old man. To him, more than any other one person, goes the credit for encouraging and building the Outing Club in its early days. His final years of life left him stone deaf and nearly blind. His body and mind were terribly weakened by illness. Yet a visitor, calling recently at his Philadelphia hospital home, found him buoyed up by thoughts of Hanover. His last memories were of New Hampshire mountains and hills; of the Outing Club and its boys he loved; of Dartmouth College.
