The '88 broadcast this month has the virtue of brevity. The Secretary is, however, still expectant that some member of the class will inadvertently send him information of some other member, as the November issue commanded.

The night of the Dartmouth-Harvard game some seventeen old boys gathered at the Boston City Club for a dinner and talk-fest, a delightful custom of long standing. Classes of '85, '86, '87, '88, and '89 were represented. Dunlap, Gregory, and Cate joined forces that '88 might be on the map. Doc Lougee was obliged to break with a long tradition, and we were sorry. In the absence of Emerson Rice, the old faithful, Frank Sanborn acted as host. He did a good job in spite of his youth and inexperience. Kid Knight, a member of the board of trustees, and Ed Bayley furnished the skittles and Sanborn the beer. Ralph Bartlett '89 gave us the latest dope on Red Russia. A good time, and we were all glad we were alive. Let us here express our gratitude to '87 for starting these gatherings so many years ago.

Word has just come to the Secretary that Dr. Arthur C. Merriam met with a tragic death by drowning on October 12. He was with us only freshman year, but we all remember him and regret that he never returned for our reunions. After leaving Dartmouth he studied medicine at Columbia, and practiced in Washington for many years. We hope to have further information in the January issue.
