For the eleventh time in the last twelve years, Alpha Sigma Phi took first place in the fraternity scholarship ratings recently announced by Dean Neidlinger. The winning average was 8.752. Sigma Alpha Ma, which broke the Alpha Sigma Phi string in 1931-32, took second honors with an average of 2.561. Lambda Phi was third with an average of 2.560.
As usual, non-fraternity students in the three upper classes led the fraternity group with an average of 2.531 to 2.367. The average for the entire college was announced as 2.317, while the freshman figure was 2.075. The non-fraternity group, with a gain from 2.479 t0 2.531, was the only division which failed to fall below last year's average.
Outstanding gains in the fraternity ratings were made by Phi Delta Theta, which rose from twenty-first to fifth place; Alpha Delta Phi, which moved from twentieth to seventh; and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, which came up from twenty-fourth to fourteenth.
