GREEN DEFENSE HOLDS
March 1934 C. E. Widmayer '30

Spain and Fitzpatrick increased the Green lead at 2:57 in the second period, the big defense man rushing in, passing to Spain, and then caging the return pass after he had coasted through the Crimson defense. Hallowell brought Harvard again within one goal of a tie when he converted Holmes' pass at 9:28, but this proved to be the end of the scoring for both sides. Dartmouth was in several tight situations throughout the last period, because of penalties, but Harvard found the Green defense equal to all thrusts.

As a result of its second Harvard victory, the Green sextet took undisputed possession of first place in the Quadrangular League with three wins and one loss. With Princeton outclassed by Yale in their first battle, indications were that Dartmouth and Yale would battle it out for the title.
