Dartmouth's first junior varsity eleven won its only contest of the year when it downed the Harvard jay-vees, 18 to 6, on November 2. A 103-yard run by Marshall Roper, sophomore back, was the highlight of the game. Preceded by perfect inter- ference, he) set out around right end from behind his own goal line, broke into the open, and outdistanced the Crimson secondaries. Roper also figured in another touchdown when he threw a 10-yard pass to Fred Axelrod, who covered another 10 yards to score. Dartmouth's third touchdown was made by Paul Lefebvre, who tallied on a 6-yard plunge through the line.
Harvard scored in the first quarter by blocking a punt on the Green 25-yard line, recovering the ball on the 5-yard mark, and rushing over a touchdown from that point.
Pat Holbrook's starting team included Montei and Johnson, ends; Ballantyne and Magel, tackles; Bankart and Handley, guards; Whitaker, center; Lowen, quarterback; Axelrod and April, halfbacks; and Ley, fullback.
