An interesting interview with Robert Lincoln O'Brien in the May number. But shades of Grover Cleveland must hover over the statement that O'Brien "served asstenographer for Grover Cleveland, whoat that time had just received the Republican nomination for president!"

Charles M. Smith, lieutenant governor of Vermont, has announced his candidacy for governor. Smith has no formal program or platform to announce, but favors the present system of state taxes, which relieves the farm and the home of any direct state tax; that summer business should be encouraged and developed to its fullest possible extent; that the young people should be given every incentive to remain in Vermont. He approves the use of the farm bureau and the extension service for the betterment of rural Vermont.

An interesting letter from Sid Walker tells of the recent marriage of his younger son, Grant, who has gone to the island of Hawaii for his honeymoon, "and thechange will be marked, for everything isdifferent on that island with high mountains, heavy forests, deep gulches, and allsorts of natural freaks."
