When news runs out a secretary is wondering what can take its place, Fortunately, the secretary is also treasurer and has been since June, 1931, when John Abbott turned over to him $31.95 and offered a vote that was carried unanimously that the secretary should hereafter be treasurer and that no accounting should ever be asked. Well, no one has had the temerity to ask to see the treasurer's books or the Savings Bank book when there has been any remainder. Up to date, including the $31.95 aforementioned, the books show total receipts of $1,155.89 and expenditures amounting to $1,140.47 with a balance in the Winchester Savings Bank as of May 4 of .$15.42. Interest on this account amounted to $23.12.
Any classmate is more than welcome to go over the treasurer's books with hope he'll find a greater balance. Does the above carry any suggestion?
