The bride and groom left immediately for a trip to Europe, and later in the summer Bob and his wife joined them there. Miss Esther M. Clark, oldest daughter of Jim Clark, was graduated in June from the Michigan State College, majoring in sociology. Miss Clark was elected to the board of the Woman's Athletic Association, and was manager of that organization's basketball teams and also golf. She earned her "S" for participation in sports. Ed Hunter was 60 years old on Tuesday, June 16, following our reunion, and his office force at the State House gave him a surprise party, which was also attended by Governor Bridges and many other friends. Ed was presented a very fine wrist watch, and in response replied very fittingly. By the way, Edgar has just been nominated as representative to the General Court from Hanover, and such nomination usually assures his election. It is very probable that he will be a candidate for the speakership.
