Edwin Schwarz, New York cameraman who has specialized in 16 mm. work, spent the first two weeks of February in Hanover filming a variety of indoor and outdoor events and scenes of the College for "Dartmouth College News," sponsors of the library of 16 mm. films which are sent around the country for showing before groups of alumni, in high and preparatory schools, and in private homes.

During his two weeks' stay in Hanover, Mr. Schwarz covered . the 36th annual Winter Carnival, including natural color shots, an Outing Club cabin trip, and ski races on Hell's Highway at Mt. Moosilauke. The movies taken will be used to supplement existing Dartmouth films and to build new and complete pictures of Dartmouth sports and classroom subjects. The Carnival reels will be given a public showing in Hanover and will be available for general rental as soon as they are completed.

In his work for the College, Mr. Schwarz was assisted by Arthur G. Guyer '37, of Hanover; Edward F. Hammel, Jr. '39, of Mt. Vernon, N. Y.; and Wyman RVaughan '39, of Minneapolis. Professor Warner Bentley assisted with the direction of some of the films, which are under the general management of the Secretary of the College, Sidney C. Hayward '26.
