DECEMBER ALUMNI ACTIVITIES command a time allotment close to Santa Claus proportions. Most of the Connecticut Clubs plan an undergraduate party at this time of the year. Fifty attended the annual Christmas Party at New Britain, December 26th, including alumni, undergraduates, prospective students, with many of their fathers. It is reported that the eight New Britain undergraduates are establishing a fine scholastic record. This group handle campus discussion of current events, in contrast to the water-lugging days, as depicted by Charlie Chase '85.

The Eastern Association meeting was held at Light House Inn, New London, on January ad. A showing of the new football reels kept general interest on the gridiron, but despite such pleasant distraction, curriculum and selective system problems held considerable attention. Another topic concerned the type of summer party that the Eastern Association should sponsor. A fine bit of work has been in progress in this area.

The December monthly meeting for Bridgeport dropped to another cellar. Very lively discussion, led by Mr. H. A. Swaffield, principal of the Fairfield high school. This former Brown football and basketball star had much of interest concerning his experiences as a football official, enough so that the keg was hardly touched. That's a high compliment! The February meeting calls for a new slate of officers. Mansfield Sprague '33 will take over the presidency for the coming year. A new law assignment made news for this young man recently. The latest item concerns his engagement to Miss Louise Hobbs of New Canaan, and Walpole, New Hampshire Plans for the February 10th meeting may be changed to cover a Dartmouth Night party at the University Club, if assured of one of the coaches as a speaker and interpreter of the football movies Bob Strong selected January 23d for a joint meeting with all of the Connecticut Alumni Selective Process Interviewing Committees for discussion of current and future problems of admission.
