The emptiness of my files for the current month attest the fact that news from the alumni is forthcoming no more readily now than last year. However, with the Brown game approaching and its resulting influx of alumni and friends, your writer has high hopes of cornering a few graduates and forcing a detailed account of themselves from their own lips.

It is with great satisfaction that we in Hanover see the construction of the new Thayer School actually under way. A more detailed account of the new building will be found elsewhere in this MAGAZINE.

According to a Charleston, S. C., newspaper clipping received from H. C. Nettles, Joe Handrahan '36 is now a member of the football coaching staff at The Citadel. As you might expect, Joe's job is coaching the linemen.

Robert Colburn '34 was a visitor at the school this summer. "Bob" is now a member of the editorial board of the Engineering News-Record.

Don Mahoney '35 has a position now with the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Boston, Mass. How about a few details, Don?

John Bouker '37 was married to Jane Gehring of Marblehead, Mass., at Marblehead on May 27.

The Thayer School was recently the beneficiary of the gift of a very fine microscope through the generosity of Patrick H. Gorman Jr., member of the class of 1938. The acquisition of this instrument fills a great need at the Thayer School.

George W. Bailey, a member of the first year class, is captain of the 1938 Dartmouth soccer team.
