THE ANNUAL FALL meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council was held at the University Club, Boston, on October 21 with Warren C. Kendall '99 of Washington, D. C., presiding.

Committee reports were given by the chairmen of all standing and special com- mittees of the Council as follows: executive committee by Mr. Kendall; nominating committee by Mr. Hinman; Alumni Fund committee by Mr. Emerson, chairman, and Albert I. Dickerson '3O, executive secre- tary; special committee on class organiza- tion by Mr. Hinman, chairman; Athletic Council by Carl F. Woods 'O4, representing Edwin B. Dooley '26, president of the Athletic Council, and by William H. Mc- Carter 'l9, Director of Athletics; special committee on vocational guidance by Mr. Leverone and Prof. Francis J. A. Neef, Di- rector of the Personnel Bureau of the Col- lege; committee on admissions and schools by Mr. Larmon, chairman, and Dean Rob- ert C. Strong '24, Director of Admissions and Dean of Freshmen.

Discussions of College policy were led by Professor Neef on the subject of financial aid for undergraduates, by Dean Strong on admissions, and Dean Neidlinger answered general questions. Dean E. Gordon Bill was expected to be present to speak on curricular changes and educational policy but was kept in Hanover by illness.

A report was given to the Council on the Gifts and Endowment program directed by William J. Minsch '07, Alumni Trustee of the College and formerly president of the Alumni Council. In reporting for Mr. Minsch the secretary of the Council, Sidney C. Hayward '26, stated that an important recent development in the program of securing gifts for the College is the creation of a special alumni committee, headed by Basil O'Connor '12, to conduct a search for funds for the proposed theater and auditorium plant in the College. He also said that the work of encouraging greater support of the College, especially among non-Dartmouth people, would proceed in various parts of the country under the direction of regional alumni committees.

The Council held its usual luncheon at the University Club. Following the afternoon business meeting members of the Council, former members, guests and their families were entertained at a reception at the Club, given by members of the Council living in and around Boston.
