ROBERT E. SHERWOOD, playright ("Abe . Lincoln in Illinois," "Idiot's Delight," "Road to Rome"), president of the Dramatists' Guild, is enthusiastic about possibilities of the great American Drama Festival to be located in Hanover as a summer theater project on a national scale, as soon as the proposed theater and auditorium plant can be financed and constructed. Mr. Sherwood, in replying to the Dartmouth invitation to use the proposed theater plant for a summer drama center, said:

"It is believed by The Dramatists' Guildthat President Hopkins' offer presents amagnificent opportunity to the theater asa whole. In view of the superiority of theDartmouth equipment, and the beauty andaccessibility of Hanover's location, theremay well be developed here a festival ofnational significance. It is hoped and expected that leading actors, directors, scenedesigners and managers will cooperate inthe fulfillment of President Hopkins'project."
