Someone has suggested that the items in this column smack a little too much of the Eastern Coast. To demonstrate our impartial attitude and prove that this little monthly effort of ours is of both national scope and interest we sent our man Oscar way out to the Broad Pacific the other day to see what he could dig up for us. Without much trouble he discovered that we have six busy and active members located in Northern California, and none in Hawaii, the Philippines, or Nevada. Some may have been temporary residents of the latter, but if so Oscar was unable to discover it. In San Francisco our man uncovered Rollie Howes, able salesman for Independent Pressroom, Inc., who, as previously reported, is president of the Dartmouth Association of North- ern California. Francis Bruguiere, former Hollywood cinemactor, was next located with the Shell Oil Company in San Fran- cisco, where he is busily engaged in ad- vertising. Also in that city Oscar en- countered Al Clifton, production manager of W. S. Warner Cos., advertising agency, Lloyd Eno, statistician for W. P. A., Jimmy Jones, formerly known to Commons waiters as "Hungry" Jones, now teacher of physical education and BruceMcKennan, manager of Wood Struthers 8c Cos.

From Charlie Paddock a few interesting items which our man Oscar carelessly overlooked on his transcontinental trip: "Charlie Huntley and wife Josephine were in Boston several weeks last fall. Charlie is manager of a canning factory in Harlingen, Texas, but came North to let some Boston bone specialists do a trick on a bad knee which has been bothering him for a few years.

"Bert Gruver was in Boston last fall as stage manager of the hit 'Tovarich.' From Boston Bert headed for Chicago and the tank towns, and has been periodically popping up in such famous metropolises as London, New York. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, etc.

"Saw Nibs Dowe, Don Burnham, and Jock Davis in Hanover October 16. CurlySadler, also in Hanover, is teaching in the recreation department. Of course you know that Gordon

Smith adorns the Boston Sunday Post w'th his cartoons regularly.

"Red Cleaveland was married last August 8. The Hartford Courant's society page went into great lengths over the brilliant wedding, at which Dick Fox,Gordon Smith, and Don Megathlin all were present.

"Ed Coddington, who your memory will recall had to leave college for his health and finally graduated in '29, is now teaching at Allegheny College.

"Fred Fellingham sent a cute picture card of his daughter Jane at Christmas time, from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"Dick Mather writes that he has just purchased a new house at 41 Nassau Ave., Kenmore, N. Y.

"Jock Davis is still growing Massachusetts' largest apples up at Sterling. Al Lawrence had a house near Jock's farm all last year, whence he commuted to his teaching job at M. I. T. But this fall Al moved to New London, Conn., where he has charge of teaching all academic subjects at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy."

Charlie Paddock, who has certainly put our man Oscar to shame with his muchappreciated letter, is still working for the Great Atlantic and Pacific, where his chief function is in his own words: "the peddli?ig of Social Security information tosome 10,000 odd employees throughoutNeiu England."

Andy Rankin came East on a visit last fall and apparently liked the old place, for he is now back here permanently. With his wife and daughter Andy is living at 180 Winter St., Norwood, Mass., and is working in Boston with the Advanced Paper Bag Company. We have seen him on several occasions recently and find him in excellent health and spirits.

Bob Tucker has been moving too fast for Oscar to keep up with him, but latest reports locate him in Akron, Ohio, with Firestone Tire and. Rubber Cos. FrankPolachek is living at 150 East 50th St., New York, N. Y. Howie Russell is another resident of Akron, where he is auditor of subsidiary companies for Firestone Tire and Rubber Cos. Al Stinchfield is practicing medicine in Skowhegan, Me. DonBogart is living at 20 East 53d St., New York, N. Y. Dick Mommers sells for the Bridgeport Brass Company in Washington, D. C.

Hooker Horton and wife announced the arrival on January 10 of William Nelson Horton, their second son.

From Hanover Bob Funkhouser informs us that he and his wife have an offspring, Patricia Ann, born there on January 21. Bob reminds us that Mike Choukas is assistant professor of sociology in Hanover. Wilbur Kennedy is still in the life insurance business in Dayton, and Tom Kennedy is a lawyer there. Chuck Baker took unto himself a wife last June. They have a very attractive place outside of Painesville, Ohio, where Chuck is the judge of the Municipal Court. Bob also reports seeing Ben Bell and Bill Abbott in Hanover this fall. Fritz Auer is a frequent visitor in Hanover from his Concord office with the State Highway Department. Since he has seen the White River bridge completed, Fritz has been sort of a traveling supervisor of construction in the Hanover section of the state.

The Dartmouth Outing Club of New York has several members from our class, among whom we find Ethan Hitchcock,Bob Stevens, Jack Thees, Sam Wormser, and Bob Reinhardt. These enthusiastic snowbirds journey each Sunday up into the hills of Western Massachusetts and Vermont and prove conclusively that there is life in some of the old boys still.

We have recently seen at one gathering or another Bill Prescott, Rog Salinger, BillSt. Amant, Bill Auer, Sykes Hardy, and Charlie Bartlett, all in the best of health. Talked by phone the other day with Dr. Jack Holleran, who is conducting a busy medical practice in Wakefield, Mass.

Since this issue of the MAGAZINE is being sent to all contributors to the Alumni Fund last year, Oscar and we would like to remind you that last June the class voted to subscribe to this MAGAZINE on the Group Plan. To get the benefits of this plan we had to guarantee about 180 subscriptions. We haven't got them yet. Many who agreed last June to take a five-year subscription have neglected to do so as yet. Many who ought to be on the list are not as yet. Ten bucks sent to the office of the MAGAZINE in Hanover will bring you a five-year subscription. If this is too much, $2.50 a year will do the trick. One hundred per cent subscription to the MAGAZINE will make your class organization one hundred per cent better. How about it?
