One of the 56 former college football stars nominated on the official 1969 National Football Hall of Fame ballots is Myles Lane. Each of the 107 dues-paying Hall of Fame chapters gets to vote and apparently this takes time because the eight players selected will not be announced until December.

"Jimmy" Fowler (Dr. Harold L.), dean t the faculty of arts and science at the of m College of William and Mary, has been given the college's 1969 Thomas Jefferson Award. When the announcement was made Feb. 8 during the college's annual Charter Day convocation, J immy received a standing ovation. The citation read, "For vears Dr. Fowler has been a brilliant teacher of European and British history. His deep devotion and loyalty to the college has been amply demonstrated as an administrator. Since he assumed the beanship he has worked tirelessly to strengthen the quality and scholarship of the faculty, encouraging good teaching and scholarly research."

Jimmy got his Master's and Ph.D. from Harvard and went directly to William and Marv where he became a full professor m 1946 and head of the History Department in 1959- In 1964 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty.

Five '28ers and their families will be m Hanover to see their sons graduate from Dartmouth on June 15: Ted Baehr, LewBeers, Jack Cook, Willis Mitchell, and your secretary. The Sunday morning ceremony in front of Baker will climax a hectic tour of the East for the whole Skinner family as we dash about to applaud the graduation of our four boys in 12 days. Scott gets his JD from Columbia Law on June 3, Luis Mejia, our foster son, graduates from Lafayette, June 6, Steve from Lawrenceville, June 7, and Doug from Dartmouth.

A note from Craig Haines says that he, Jack Kenerson, Wes McSorley, and John Nixon represented the Class at the Dartmouth dinner in Boston Feb. 13 to pay tribute to Thad Seymour, who is retiring as Dean of the College in June to become president of Wabash College.

Our sympathy goes to Ned Brown whose wife, Hermionie, died on February 26.

John Phillips wrote Feb. 27 from St. Croix: "All kinds of '28ers-here. Saw Norm and Edith Chamberlain and Jane Keller at the H. A. Penny Beach Club. Jane reported Bill and Gert Heep were here last week. Jack and Fran Kenerson are at the Fountain Valley Golf Course."

In New York City Don Giles was elected a first vice president of the Bankers Trust Company. He currently heads up the Personal Trust Investment Division of the bank. He joined Bankers Trust in 1929 and was promoted to assistant trust officer in 1944, trust officer in 1948, and vice president in 1959. He and Marie make their home in Short Hills, N. J., with daughter Anne. Donald Jr. now lives in Bridgeport, Conn.

George Hansis retired last July, is now travelling in the South. Since 1962 he had been executive vice president of Tropical Radio Telegraph Co., a United Fruit subsidiary. As of January 1, Parker Chick retired, after 41 years in the investment business, the last 35 of these with F. S. Moseley & Co., Boston.

Mab Milliken reports from Hopetown, Bahamas, that they are building a new home, up the hill behind their cottages, and that Roy is on the job from dawn to dusk overseeing his workmen. Sherm and Marie BakeTeltel were their guests for two weeks. Ed andMillie Heyn are coming to visit them in May — Millie was with Mab three years ago when they were just "looking around" and fell in love with the island. Shortly afterward the Millikens moved there from Lancaster, Pa.

Don and Helen Dodd of West Chester, Pa., say the only change in their lives recently is that they no longer operate their dairy farm — labor problems became insurmountable.

Walt Molina's son, Gerry, has joined the Peace Corps and will teach in Kenya's secondary schools. He received his A.B. degree from Harvard in 1964; has just completed 12 weeks of training at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Dee Runk has retired as Dean of the University of Virginia, but will continue on the faculty as a professor of biology.
