A letter from Mrs. Henry Safford of Houston, Texas, tells of the wonderful spirit which "Queech" has shown to overcome his prolonged condition. Last March he suffered a severe heart attack which has caused his confinement to bed ever since. Henry Jr. has a fine position with the Houston Light 8c Power Cos. and is a source of happiness and comfort to his mother through these trying days. Winifred has a position with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. The class extends its heartiest greetings to the Safford family

George L. Peirce has recently announced the establishment of Peirce, Optician, 120 Tremont St., Boston, Mass. When oculists' prescriptions have to be filled or broken lenses duplicated, there's a classmate to remember.

In a recent letter from Victor M. Cutter progress is reported in clearing the hurricane damaged area at his New Hampshire farm for next summer's picnic. He says that Victor Jr. has gone back to Cornell to continue his efforts for a Ph.D. Thelma has returned to Smith College to enter her junior year, and Donald is keeping his weather eye out for entrance to Dartmouth. That leaves Vic and Florence undergoing a practical course in economics as they finance a sawmill, sell their lumber and logs, cord and pulpwood.

Harold Hess, our class treasurer, reports that there is no doubt of the class desire and ability to continue as too percent the subscriptions for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE for this year. Great work, Harold, in rounding up the monies for class purposes.

Harold also mentions the fact that he and Grace attended Commencement last June and were most graciously invited to attend the 1904 picnic. Among the classmates seen during Commencement were Brutus Luce, Vic Cutter, Artie Bolster, Babe Grant, Otis Mudge, Larry Swan and Balz French which was certainly not a bad turnout for a non-reunion year.

Balz French is again to be congratulated on the success of his efforts as class agent in the alumni fund contest. Through many years, sixteen or more, he has seen that the class maintained a high position in the list. The class appreciates the tremendous efforts required in this work for the college.

Arthur S. Bolster Jr. has received one of two Second College Grant scholarships for applicants from New Hampshire from the freshman class. These scholarships are for $5OO each. Congratulations from the class to Artie Sr. and Arthur S. Jr.
